Sportsystem exhausts in TOP Quality is primarily made of chrome steel (AISI 409 / EN 1.4512). This is technically a ferritic stainless steel. The steel is alloyed with 10-12% chromium. To ensure the best weldability, the carbon content has been minimized, and titanium has been added. The result is a tough, weldable material with excellent rust protection.
Over time, chrome steel develops a reddish-brown corroded surface on areas that have become heated. This is normal, and unlike regular mild steel, corrosion progresses very slowly, resulting in long durability. The expected lifespan of products in TOP Quality is 10-15 years
