MapTun Repair Kit Gear Tower Turret 9-3 II 6-speed FWD
$37.07
Description
Repair Kit for Saab 9-3 II FWD and 6-speed manual gearbox.
A common issue with the 9-3 equipped with the F40 (6-speed gearbox) is that the gear lever feels stiff when moving sideways. This makes it difficult to find the gears, and the driving experience becomes very poor. The cause is a bushing, originally made of thin nylon, which gets compressed due to the surrounding material oxidizing.
In our repair kit, the nylon bushing is replaced with a steel bushing that has a PTFE-coated bearing surface. This is also greased with the included PTFE grease for optimal lubrication and protection against moisture.
The repair kit also includes a new shaft that replaces the original one. The shaft is made from high-quality 7075 aluminum and is manufactured in Maptun's own machines. The surface of the shaft is then treated for extra corrosion protection.
The kit includes tool/guide for pressing in the new bushing. Install guide available below (PDF).
Due to space constraints, we recommend removing the "tower" from the car during installation.
